The local company Bafelsa has been hired by the Almuñécar Town Hall to carry out the waterproofing of the Casa del la Cultura roof.
It seems that following the recent rainfalls several leaks appeared causing damp and damage on the 2nd floor, specifically to the corridor and the access to the Board of Culture office.
The job consists of pulling up the tiles on the flat roof and laying a coat of waterproofing (tar paper) before retiling it again.
As the Casa de la Cultura was built over 30 years ago, time and weather have left their mark.
The budget is around 35,500 euros and will affect 300 sq/m of flat roof, taking some two months to complete.
