A car burst into flames on the A-7 access road in Taramay (Almuñécar) on Monday night with two people aboard – neither was injured.
The incident occurred around 22.30h when the driver heard a strange noise coming from under the bonnet, as they made their way up to the A-7, so they decided to pull over onto the hard shoulder and investigate.
They were no sooner out of the door when flames appeared and the car started to burn. They called the fire service but by the time that the fire engine arrived the car was well alight.
The incident produced a tailback and traffic flow was not reestablished for at least half an hour.
The car ended up completely burnt out but thanks to the quick reactions of the occupants nobody resulted injured.
