Two men have were detained on the 31st October by the Guardia Civil for assaulting a woman and her baby of just one month old, in an attempt to force them to leave their own home. The alleged aggressors are two men of initials R.Z. and L.A. and of foreign nationality. Details of this offence have only just been released.
An emergency call alerted officers of the Civil guard of an attack on a woman who had suffered several cuts to her arms and was in an extremely distressed state with her baby son in her arms.The infant was suffering from convulsions brought on by the use of pepper spray by the aggressors, who were inside the house at the time.
The mother and infant were quickly taken care of by the health workers who went to the site and were transported to the health centre, Playa Blanca, from where the baby was moved to the General Hospital .
Police say that one of the detained claimed that the house belonged to him . A backpack with DIY effects needed for changing locks, as well as an axe and a cannister of pepper spray were found in the house. The suspects were charged with taking the law into their own hands and breaking and entry plus an assault.
The detainees were sent to the acting duty Court of Justice, Arrecife.
