Guardia Civil San Bartolomé have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of theft and breaking into several rental vehicles in Lanzarote.
The Spanish National,initials S.I.Q.P., was arrested on November 9th and was found to have numerous previous convictions. He was arrested on suspicion of forcibly breaking into 3 rental cars, in different areas of Lanzarote.
The investigation began on the 7th of November, after several car break ins in the Caldera Blanca area of Tinajo. Police interviewed tourists who were in the area in order to trace the robber.
Guardia Civil stopped the thief on the 9th of November, in his own car, which he used to travel to the scenes of the robberies, in Puerto del Carmen, recovering various valuables stolen from cars in several areas of Lanzarote.
The Guardia Civil de San Bartolomé also found evidence to connect the suspect with two other similar robberies in Yaiza.
The detainee has appeared in court , Arrecife.
