A 65-year-old German tourist was rescued on Monday morning in the mountain above Tahíche after almost 12 hours of searching by firemen from the Security and Emergency services.
It was at 21:15 hours on Sunday evening that the authorities were alerted by staff at the Hotel Albatros in Costa Teguise, because the guest who suffers with heart problems, had not taken his medication with him and had gone out for a walk after mid day and had not returned.
The search for the tourist began on Montaña Corona, Costa Teguise due to information provided of the possible routes that the man may have taken. However, the night search ended unsuccessfully.
Finally, about 8 o'clock on Monday morning, the police were told that a lady had found a man disoriented, suffering from Hyothermia behind the mountain in Tahíche.
Firemen attended and moved him to a rescue bed in an Emergency ambulance .
The man was being taken care of by paramedics and volunteers from Emerlan and the Local Police.
